Piero Lionello presents RL6

An extreme event is a rare event and depends on frequency, space and time. It is difficult to make a general statement on classes of extreme events and very often climate models, even regional climate models, don't have the resolution which is sufficient to describe extreme events. For all these reasons there is an entire research line dedicated to extreme events in the Mediterranean area within the CIRCE project. Piero Lionello, interviewed by Angela Simone (CIRCE communicationo office), associate professor at the University of Salento-Lecce (Italy) is the co-leader of RL6 Extreme Events.
