At the end of the Third CIRCE General Assembly (17-19 March 2010), Antonio Navarra (CIRCE Executive Board co-chair) is fully satisfied with the progress of the project: the regional assessment report is on track and the coordination among all the actors involved in CIRCE has been achieved. Listen here the interview made by Angela Simone (CIRCE communication office). Moreover, during the event, Silvio Gualdi, CIRCE RL2 co-leader, announced that the work about CIRCE models have been completed. For the first time, models and scenario ad hoc for the Mediterranean region, including the effects of the Mediterranean Sea, have been prepared. Here the nterview to him. And here you can find the photogallery of those days.

The Second CIRCE General Assembly (18-20 March 2009) has set the pace for the next challenge of the project: the preparation of the Regional Assessment of Climate Change in the Mediterranean Report. A very exciting period has started for CIRCE, now in the middle of its duration: some preliminary conclusions have been already reached in all the research lines and now it's time to speed up the collaboration among the social-economics side and the scientific sector of the project in order to try to provide a general view for the climate change impacts in the Mediterranean region. This is the Laurence Tubiana's (CIRCE executive board co-chair) comment on CIRCE, collected by Angela Simone (CIRCE communication office) and available here. Moreover, Philippe Quevauviller, EU scientific officer, talks to Luca Carra (CIRCE communication office) about his mission for CIRCE: supporting policies for adaptation to climate change in the Mediterranean area and using scientific results form CIRCE at the political level. According to his speech in Bologna, CIRCE outcomes can be of help for the IPCC's Fifth Assessment report. Here the interview. And here you can find the photogallery of those days.

CIRCE has participated in European Science Open Forum (ESOF) 2008, held in Barcelona (Spain) on 18-22 July 2008, with two outreach activities named "Changing climate, challenging communication".
CIRCE has presented a video on climate change focussing on the acquisition and evaluation of scientific data but also in relation to the impacts of climate change on human and natural environments. A workshop session, in which Antonio Navarra (Italy), Carlo Jaeger (Germany) (here an interview on his speech) and Millan Millan (Spain) have taken part, has been also held to answer the following questions: what happen if consider and study climate change as a result of social dynamics, economic issues, effects on human health, impacts on agriculture and forest? Would something change in the prediction of our planet future?
Here you can have a look at the photogallery of the events.

PCST-10 in Malmo PDF Print

pcst_roadshow.jpgMalmo (Sweden), 23-27 June 2008

What is the climate among CIRCE scientists and communication people? How do scientists look at the dissemination activities? Are they ready for the communication challenge? How do they consider the communicators? Un-useful presence or valid support to interact properly with media? Do the CIRCE scientists expect that communication office help them or throw a spanner in their research work?
Starting from these questions, the CIRCE communication office has prepared a survey to be distributed among the CIRCE scientific community. The results of the study (here you can see the presentation) have been presented during the Tenth Public Communication of Science and Technology (PCST-10) conference in Malmo (Sweden) on 23-27 June 2008. Here you can see Angela Simone (CIRCE Communication Office) during the CIRCE study speech.
