796089_please_ring_this_bell.jpgAnalysing climate change and its impact needs a production of relevant elements for policy making that can be very different from the parameters considered by climate experts.

CIRCE wants to achieve a more realistic approach to match stakeholders and policy makers demands making a strong point in producing relevant research for the actors of the region. For that reason CIRCE will provide assessments that can be integrated in practical decision making, since this method is necessary and more able to represent the reality as many impacts on health, tourism, migration, etc.  cannot be reliably expressed as a function of climate change alone.

Thus at the first steps of the project, a meeting with carefully-selected stakeholders will be held to establish a strong linkage with groups of interest in climate change (policy makers, press, citizens and society at large).

The end product of CIRCE will be a Final Report - Regional Assessment of Climate Change in the Mediterranean (RACCM). The RACCM will be produced in close consultation with stakeholders who will contribute to better-defined and more relevant priorities and issues.

Interested stakeholders can find further information about the project (general overview and CIRCE brochure) and the First CIRCE Stakeholders meeting in Paris, on 16-17 October 2007, here below:
